I understand this knife did not come out as you wanted, but let me say this knife is wonderful. The rough, hammered look along the spine and the burl gives it a unique "old world" look. The gold of the burl looks almost translucent in this photo, balancing the old with the new. Your handle shape is certainly unique as it is functional; it has a modern, fantasy-like quality to it but it has a wonderful practical, ruggedness as well. This knife would look stunning on a display table but would fit equally well on your hip in the backwoods; in fact it screams to me "I am as tough as I am beautiful, take me out and use me." Overall, this knife superbly blends the old world with the modern world and is an excellent example of traditional craftsmanship in an age of mass production. A simple beauty.
Given the nature of the weapon, this fella would work really well as a boot knife. If you watch the movies, half the time the knife is to big and clunky. The other, the user can hardly get it out without being noticed. The handle and the shape of the overall is perfect for a surefire extraction. (Nice job)
