Camp Knife by Logan-Pearce Camp Knife by Logan-Pearce
OAL: 13 1/2"
Handle: Dyed and stabilized bone.

The bone actually is blue on this side, which was actually green in the beginning. On the other side it's like....4 different colors. It's weird and awesome. My next knife is a sword. Short sword. Scimitar. Yeah.

I'm hoping that I can take a better picture than I did of this one. As you can tell from all of my knife pictures, I have trouble taking pictures of larger blades. The scimitar is quite a bit larger than this, so I'm still messing with the pictures. Hopefully I has something good for you guys to look at.

That being said I have something aweeesome lined up for later this week. I'm excited for it, even though it's pretty simple.

To start, the rustic impression it gives is fantastic. The hammering on the spine is a clever clue that it is hand made. Using bone is also a great old school trademark. Was the concept of burning bone a way to cure it from future water damage or wear and tear; if it isn't, I like it just the same. By the look of the shape of the handle, I'd want to have the tether strap on it as well; very smooth lines. Oh, is the handle to blade transition piece (forget what that part is called) nickel or silver? I believe it gives the piece a taste of culture. Hope to see more of these. Nice work.

Now this is something I'd like to have in my camping kit, looks rugged and like it could stand up to some regular use.

As always, the blade looks fabulous. I like the kind of sponged-on look of the black accent. The bone is fabulous though. I hope you use that dye on more things because it definitely looks really cool! Almost like how seashells and stuff will fossilize as agate or something.
