Hunter Orange by Logan-Pearce Hunter Orange by Logan-Pearce
Get it? Because it's orange....and a hunting knife....you get it right? :iconcreepylaaplz: Right?!?

Name: Hunter Orange
Blade Length: 3 1/2"
OAL: 8 1/2"
Blade Material: 1080 w/hamon
Handle Material: Orange G-10

Ooooh if you like Death Note you should look at the new favicon on my website: www.pearceknives.com

Everytime I look at it, I think if L. :D People are probably going to wonder why Pearce Knives has an L for the favicon... they probably don't have a soul anyway.

About this knife:

What's that? It resembles my Backup Tactical knife, you say?

Yesh. When I first designed it was much more angular. I didn't go with the exact design I had drawn up, because Backup was one of the tutorial knives that I showed you guys how I make knives only using common house hold tools.

So, since I'm trying to nail down my exact models for my tactical knives, I wanted to see which one I would be more happy with. As it turns out, I like the first Backup that I made more than this one. Then angles didn't feel right, so I ground them all off and rounded everything to get as close to Backup's design as possible.

Since it was still different in too many ways for me to feel comfortable with, I decided to see if the orange G-10 I got the other day was the same as what I used on

To my delight, they are one and the same. Now....that I know that and I want to get more...idk what I want to use it on. :P Maybe I'll make a hunting knife design that is full tang rather than just my hunting knife.

It would be cool to have a hunting knife selection for all of you Bambie murderers!

Anyway. The picture of this one kind of sucks, but oh well. As you can see I did my best to make the blade look as though it was a using blade, instead of just another pretty face.

I figure I'll put it on my Available Now page as soon as I have a sheath made for it. Which might take a while. >.<

You can call me flower if you want to, I don't mind. :meow:

Good looking little hunter, and you didn't mention it's differentially hardened, does the G-10 make you itch when your shaping it?

LOL, sorry not laughing at you, can you say FIBERGLASS, all you can do is cover up and there is a commercial cream you can rub on exposed skin prior to working it. ( I used to work on fiberglass boats in the 70's (damn I'm old lol)Be SURE you wear a respirator when grinding handles of G-10. Pretty handle material anyway, think I'll stick to Micarta ;>P

Right?! Man, I love the way G-10 looks, but I freaking hate the way it feels. I do always wear a mask, after the first time I brushed my teeth and saw metal, I've never stopped wearing one while working with materials.

Using this material is one of the main reasons I hate summer. I can't just bundle up without being soaked in sweat after the first 10 minutes.

I'm seriously considering building a plexiglass box around my grinder and putting the little glove holes that are on sand blasters on the box. Then! None of that would bother me and my grinding room would be cleaner. :D

Or you could go to Harbor Freight and get a vacuum system for around a hundred bucks, you mount an intake just below the contact wheel and it will suck in about 95 percent of the dust or so they say. :)

I wonder how well it would really work. I was thinking of having one hooked up to the box. Maybe that is over kill though. I really hate feeling like I just rolled around in fiberglass though. :(

How are you able to keep the pattern in the material so precise though?

Well it's just alternating orange and black. So I make sure to go deeper in certain parts and higher in others. Plus it adds that whole grip stuff. :D
