Jerry Fisk Knife by Logan-Pearce Jerry Fisk Knife by Logan-Pearce
Did you want to see a little bit of forging? No?? Me either, but! here it is anyway: [link]

Because you deserve to know he is giving away shirts and a knife! Who doesn't like free stuff? Terrorist, that's who! Plus I thought I would give you a preview of one of the people that I plan on becoming better than...in time. :meow:

At the moment his Facebook likes are 224, I know when they get 250, they are giving away a t-shirt. And~ I believe every 250 after that.

BUT! At 1,000 he is giving away a knife. [link]

He has been helping me to organize the advanced tutorials that I just honestly don't have time to do. I have been working on some basic/beginner tutorials. Which will be in written/pictorial form, plus a video. However, if you keep up with the videos that Jerry has been helping me with, then you will basically be getting lessons from Mastersmiths. And I couldn't be more happy to share his work as well as the others.

However, unlike me he has like a 7 year waiting list. And you guys thought waiting a few months on me was bad. :P His knives also go for about 100x the amount mine do though....

Regardless! Figured you guys would like to know and of course to let you know that I am still alive. :) Orders have me backed up too much to play and the Arkansas show is coming up.

The good news is this:

I have 5 of the best knives that are possibly the best of my work. All of them close to being finished. Onnne I should be finishing today. AND! One is a sword. Not one that you guys are use to seeing either. :D

Anyway! I miss you guys and after the next few weeks, I'll be able to breathe again and I'll be back. Then we will get back to taking over the world!! :evillaugh:

holy shit, you know Fisk?!!! I know that you are becoming more well known as a knifemaker, and for good reason, but working with an "A-list" knife maker like him is freaking awesome

Yeah. I mean in his defense he was friends with my grandfather. So I was around him at a young age. Now that knifemaking is my career we get together at least once a month, sometimes more. It just depends. It's fun being friends with a lot of the makers of his stature. It's even more fun competing against them though. Heh...

That is absolutely stunning! Since I don't do much knifing, I would take something like that and hang it up on my wall for decorative purposes. <3

Its waaaaay too gorgeous to risk damaging. Even the nicer chef knives I don't know if I could use. They're just too gorgeous. I'm a sucker overall for pretty things.

Form what I've seen
most tooth picks have a double edge blade like a dirk or a dagger
but some styles have a shallow drop point to them
so yours reminded me of a Arkansas style. :)

The daisies (poppies?) look....a little out of place, but this thing is amazing. The shape is perfect and the damascus pattern is just stunning. I can see why you aspire to this man's level of skill ;)

I typically don't do work on other peoples stuff. There is a lot of pressure when doing that. It's why I also don't take on a whole lot of custom orders. It is just a lot more fun to make what I want to make, if you know what I mean.

Hey, you aren't doing so bad yourself. I saw some of the stuff you were working on. I love Persian blades. :)

I'll have a whole lot of different style/level of tutorials on there and a lot of them will be forging. So hopefully it will help you out even more. I'd love to see you become a force to be reckoned with.

Thank you :) My boss and i are experimenting. Me too. They look wicked :).

Sweet! Can't wait till they are all posted. They most certainly will help out. Awww, thank you :) although i heard knife making is hard to get a good profit unless you have been making them for years and have a good reputation. What's your opinion on that?

Always happy to help. Who ever said that is correct. Your success depends on the same thing as it does in most professions: Your personality, the exposure you get, who you know, and then your skill level. Or you need to just make a good design and get lucky. :P I know a lot of makers that are much more talented than I am, but don't get nearly as known as my knives are.

It also takes a ton of dedication. About 95% of the knifemakers out there don't do it full time, because they can't afford to. They don't make enough profit to do so. Which is kind of bad for full time knifemakers, because there are a good amount of people out there that make good knives, but they don't rely on it for income. So they can have low prices and etc. However, if you good business and you have a good personality, usually things work out pretty well.
