So wonderful! So much thought put into it! I look forward to the day I can own a few pieces by you. lol You will be celebrated every time I cut herbs. I don't think that it's a failure at all. Art has a habit of taking on a life of it's own. It's rare when what the object wants and what the artist wants ends up coming out the same!

Negative. They are 5 layers of steel that I sandwiched down using the metal tang to keep them there. No welding involved.

oh! idea!!! :D you could cover it up by making the roots into an inlay of wood or somthing or putting a rose petal in side it and using a clear epoxy or something to coat and protect it!!!!

I'm not sure exactly. I worked on it on and off for about a week and a half. Shaping the pedals before putting them onto the knife was the worst. I really don't like that part. The rest was pretty easy, just that part, really sucked.
