As I understand you make these as functional novelty knives. First let me say, they are tremendously well made and the original idea was very clever indeed. My one critisism for these peices is only that you seem to keep posting varients of the same up on your page. They are all very lovely but i dont see much differance artistically between this and some of your rebar and wrench knives.
That is not to say they arent lovely to look at and very well made, but with the ammount that get's posted they feel very "samey."
Id like to see more pictures posted of knives that have been more of a stretch for you , both technically and creatively - advertising your wears is fine and totally understandable, but it would be nice to see a little more of your work posted up that is documenting your journey as an artist, as opposed to the sales pitch so much?
Negative. I was making these about 10 years before Scrubs was even made. There are pictures floating around on the interest of them from that time, yet people still think I got the idea from them, when it is the other way around. lol
Not really. I've worked with it for a very long time now. The most difficult for me is damascus, after getting use to doing those, everything else seems really easy. Heat treatment is different for every steel. You have to know the specs of the steel and how to properly heat treat them.
