Rebar Tanto by Logan-Pearce Rebar Tanto by Logan-Pearce
A commissioned Rebar Tanto. I forged it out and made it based off my memory of the first one I did some time ago... then when I looked at the original, I realized I should have looked at it before making this one. lol.

The original:

It was much shorter and more curved than this one. My tantos have been changing a lot lately. Mainly, because I didn't plan on making many/any tantos in the first place.

Your house must be the scariest place to steal from. Walk in, there's knives and smithing stuff all over the place.

Burglar's all like "i dun wanna die i dun wanna die i dun wanna die"

I think this version looks a little cleaner. I like the curve in the first one too.

I have been collecting knives for a very long time (over 30 years) and it still amazes me how Bladesmiths, as yourself, can bring a piece of steel to life. The balance of form and function is not always easy to do, I think you nailed it on this one. I really enjoyed the rest of your work, also.

I prefer the rebar straighter, anyway! Don't know why you didn't plan on making them, they are gorgeous!

I was curious as to whether we could get a Overall length and such. I really like your work, I can't wait to get my propane forge working! I just need the propane burner and then I am set to start! :)

I've always admired your rebar work. I'm totally a faux bladesmith, I don't beat the metal--just shape it. I hope to someday have the resources (and time) to hone skills like yours. You're very talented!

I think I like this one better. I actually like the straighter handle. I think it has a little more "traditional tanto" feel to it than the more curved on.
