I've been putting a few things together for my dA. One reason was because I have had a few concerned messages from people about me doing stuff with my facebook, like splitting the sweepstakes up into two different ones. As well as my knife forum. The main concern has been me having less to do with dA and eventually only having stuff on my facebook or the forums. While I really appreciate the messages there is no need to be worried. I love dA and the people here.

I have been planning on being more active online, which starts here, because in a sense, I feel this is my internet home. Which brings me to my point. I will be holding 2 contests a year as well as my annual sweepstakes. I have them spaced out that way there is something going on every 4 months, as well as a monthly feature on here of art work and artist. More information under their titles.

Rules:

Must Favorite and comment 'Rule #9' on the 1st Place Prize;
Begins Nov. 1, 2012 and ends Nov. 30, 2012.
One entry per deviant.
You can enter no matter what country you are in.

Then I reply to your comment with a number. On Dec. 1st, 2012 I will use a random generator to pick 5 winners. On that same day I will post a new journal announcing the winners and note will be sent to them. You also need to be over 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent to receive the knife, since you know... people act like they are weapons or something. Crazy. I know.

You can enter the contest no matter where you live. No matter the country, you are allowed to play in my sweepstakes. Just be aware of your knife laws, when taking them out in public. These will be sent as 'Artwork' and in most places you are allowed to have them in your house or whatever, but it's the whole taking them outside and stabbing people that really makes them upset.

Tutorials:





So, I've decided on a few tutorials now. I have a huge list of them, so if you suggested something, it will be done in time. I'm going to go from simple to complicated. I'm going to try to submit a tutorial a month.

This also means that my current tutorial that I have up will be deleted. I will give an updated version of it, with better pictures, and the entire thing complied into one clean picture. Rather than the scattered thing that it is now. It will make my dA look a little more clean and easier for those of you that want to read it.

My tutorials won't just be on bladesmithing, they will be on making materials needed to do certain parts of it. To become a 'great' knife maker or bladesmith, I feel that you need more than just the skills of forging a blade and being able to sharpen them. So on some of my tutorials it will have nothing to do with metal at all. Many of the techniques and materials that I use for my knives cross over to other artisan genres.

As always, suggestions are welcome.










Monthly Featured Work/Artists:






I've been considering this for a while, because I will go through a lot of different peoples work and a majority of it is artisan crafts, but not always. But for the most part I see a lot of really talented people whose work doesn't get a whole lot of attention.

It may be that they aren't easy to approach or maybe they aren't that active. Regardless, I feel that their work deserves to be seen by anyone that looks through my junk.

Anyways, starting in Dec. I'll post my favorites that I come across. At first it will be the work that I think deserves more attention than what it got and then it will move down to what I find during each month. It will of course be the best off and I like to think that I have high class taste when it comes to other peoples work.

It will be based around weapons, because that is what I like and it will give good inspiration to you guys. And most likely more than a few of you that are my friends on here will end up getting featured in it as well. I'm will also do my best to throw in peoples work from other categories so that I don't feel so bias.










Points Contest:






Tired of just being a lottery with a lot of other people to win something from me? Well! Instead of a sweepstakes, I will be giving away points and other crappy stuff. The way I have it set up is every 4 months some type of free stuff will be given away. March will be the dA point give away, normally I just randomly go around giving points to different groups or people, but this seems a little more fun.

Commissions/Orders:




I'm currently working on all of my pending orders, which I plan on being finished with during the first week of Nov. However, if you are planning on ordering something from me for Christmas, either give me a heads up or do it before/during the first week of Dec. I will most likely be shutting down the ordering part of my website after that first week, simply because I will be too backed up to have the orders made and shipped to arrive before Christmas.

If by some miracle I have inventory, then I won't shut it down. At this point it is looking impossible, but I'm honestly going to do my best to make sure all of my individual orders are taken care of.
